  • CONTROVERSY OVER TITLE CHANGE

Following a great sold out show in Rugeley there is lots of fall out and controversy to bring to Darlaston on Friday 18th September. Rugeley's main event saw number one contender Matt 'Hammer' Mensa beat Mad Dog Maxx for the coveted Great British Wrestling Heavyweight Championship to a huge & popular reaction from the crowd!

However merely minutes into Mensa's celebration party, Mad Dog's management team lodged an complaint to the official board of control of wrestling, stating that the bout was not officially sanctioned by the board of control; because the match was made on the night of the event. Due to this, no contracts were signed, there were no weights taken or any other of the official procedures that need to take place for a championship bout.

The board of control has judged that the bout was not official and will go down in the record books as an exhibition bout only. With this, the belt has been returned to the Mad Dog Maxx camp and he is still recognised as Champion.

This decision comes much to the horror of the ever popular Matt 'Hammer' Mensa and his fans, although there is some good news for Mensa! Due to his 'exhibition' victory over Maxx he has been named number one contender once again and has officially been sanctioned for a Championship bout on Friday 18th September 2009 at the Darlaston All Active Club!

Furthermore due to the heated rivalry and now hatred between the two, Mensa has requested the bout be made a No Holds Barred, No DQ - Hardcore match! The board has approved this due to the heated nature of the rivalry hoping that this will finally settle the title dispute as well as the men's personal rivalry!

  • BRASH SIGNS WITH WRESTLING LIVE! PROMOTIONS

Graduate of Lance Storm's Wrestling School in Alberta, Canada Marcus Brash has signed on the dotted line with Wrestling Live! Promotions. Marcus is in our opinion the best of all the UK based grapplers to qualify from former ECW, WCW, WWE/F star Lance Storm's academy.

He is a very exciting athletic wrestler who uses a great array of unorthodox and awe inspiring offence; a very exciting grappler who is instantly popular with any crowd he appears in front of. We are very pleased to be bringing the London based Marcus Brash to the Midlands to mix things up with our local talent and give our fans fresh & exciting matches rarely seen in the area.
